Over the years I’ve done a lot of side jobs for friends & family. Below is a listing that I hesitate to call a portfolio since it was all pro bono and UX/design is not my strongest skill.
Riklamed – Reclaimed Wood Furniture Brand
My brother-in-law is very handy, and one day decided to take some old wood, reclaimed from a nearby barn, and turn it into a table. Then benches, chairs, and dining room tables. Next thing you know he’s buying a whole barn to get more wood, because so many friends & family love the product.
I built a simple WordPress site to highlight their best pieces, linked to social media, and the requests starting flowing. These days they only do pieces for friend & family do to other commitments, but we keep the site up and running for the brand. And of course one day my brother-in-law will retire (or semi-retire if you know him), and production will ramp back up.
Best Ohio CBD – eCommerce Storefront
A family member bought a CBD franchise, and the website that came with it was not the most user-friendly. So we purchased some DNS entries that are easier to remember and on-brand. With a little DNS magic, the friendly URLs now mask the ugly ones, and marketing materials have been updated for consistency.
Cather Partners – Wholesale Branding
Do you have that one friend who you always knew would be successful but you didn’t know how? A friend decided to start his own business and I knew it was going to be great. The business? Selling catheters whole sale. I was not expecting that. Here we are years later and the business is going strong — helping children born with spina bifida, paralyzed people of all ages, and of course the elderly.
A WordPress site was created to not only establish the business online, but to provide resources to patients such as best practices for safety and community support.
